HOW TO PLAY BAGARRE ?

OBJECTIVE

Be the first to get rid of all your cards.

SET UP

Each player gets:

  • 3 face-down cards (secret)
  • 6 cards in hand

From your 6 cards:

  • Place 3 of your best cards face-up on top of your face-down cards.
  • Keep 3 in your hand

ON YOUR TURN

  • Play a Card
You must play one or multiple card equal to or higher than the last card played. Remember, certain power cards (like a 2 or 3) can break the normal order.

  • Draw Back to 3
When you play a card, pick one up to always have 3 cards in hand (until the draw pile runs out).

  • Play Order
Play your hand cards first. When the draw pile is empty and you don't have any cards left in your hand, then play your face-up cards, and finally your face-down cards blindly.

  • Can’t Play?
If you can play, you must. If you cannot play, you must pick up the entire pile. The player who made you pick up plays next (play goes backward instead of forward).

SPECIAL CARDS

EXTRA TWISTS

BURN THE PILE

If four identical cards are played, the pile is burned immediately (this can happen at any time).

The player who burned the pile gets another turn.

WINNER / LOSER CARDS

If you reveal a face-down card and it is:

  • A yellow 4 Marked “Winner”  You instantly win the game.
  • A red 4 Marked “Loser”
    You instantly lose the game.

NO CARD IS INVINCIBLE

Absolutely no card is unbeatable. Black numbered cards are considered the strongest, but none of them are invincible.

A black numbered card cannot be played on a 6 of a different colour.

10 and 14, cannot be played on a 7 UNDER as they are both higher.

10 cannot be played on a higher card, except for the 14.

MOST COMMON MISTAKES

  • Playing invalid cards

Playing cards that are not allowed on the current card, examples:

    • Playing any different colour on a 6.
    • Playing a 10 on a 11,12,13
    • Playing a 14 or a 10 on a 7
    • Playing a 6 on a 6
    • Playing a 4 on top of a higher card
  • Playing when it isn’t your turn

    After a player picks up the pile, theplayer who made them pick up plays again, not the next player;

  • Picking up from the wrong place

If you cannot play, you must pick up theentire play pile, not thedraw pile.

  • Forgetting to pick up

You must always have 3 cards in hand.

  • Misunderstanding the 3 (Mirror card)

A3 is a mirror and does not copy the action.
Example: If a 3 is played on a 7, the next player must play7 or higher.

  • Thinking you won with a 4 in hand

You do not win if you have a 4 winner in your hand. A 4 only wins when it is revealed from under a face-down card.

  • Forgetting to discard a 4

If you do not discard the 4, it stays active in the game and players will keep exchanging hands.

  • Looking at a card instead of playing blindly

When you must play a blind card, you cannot look at it first. Everyone gets to see the card you revealed at the same time.
